Such disruptions are becoming a regular feature of global food supply chains. To anticipate and manage these risks before they affect Singapore’s food supply,
SATS, through its subsidiary Country Foods, has developed an AI-enabled end-to-end Control Tower to monitor global threats in near real time and strengthen the resilience and reliability of its commercial supply chain, from farm to distribution. SATS unveiled this unique command centre in Singapore today after 18 months of intensive trials to test, validate and refine key functions that enable near real-time monitoring of Country Foods’ global logistics network.
Country Foods is part of SATS Food Solutions, Asia’s leading airline caterer and a major food solutions provider, which runs central kitchens with large-scale food production and distribution capabilities across a wide range of cuisines. Country Foods operates a protein processing and distribution business, sourcing food supplies from more than 20 countries, including Australia, Brazil, and Thailand, interfacing with close to 200 supply chain facilities worldwide that are supplied by some 4,000 farms.
The Control Tower is SATS’ first AI-enabled command centre, operating around the clock to track global risks and the movement of food supplies across sea, air and land. By fusing data from news sources, digital platforms and live logistics systems, it provides early warning of potential disruptions and supports faster, better-informed operational decisions.
The system has already helped SATS respond to extreme weather and disease outbreaks in Brazil, as well as port congestion in Thailand, enabling the company to adjust sourcing plans, reroute shipments and maintain business continuity. What previously required thousands of emails to track container movements can now be seen instantly on a single platform.
